"Hi! I’m Steph Scott - sometimes known as Little Legs - and I am an ultra-runner who enjoys being out and about on the fells and trails, usually in the North of England."
This is me, feeling glad to have finished the Wooler trail marathon, which was about 28.5 miles in rather icy conditions. The Cheviots are just over an hour’s drive away for me and offer some beautiful, isolated and challenging routes. I have recently completed the Montane Cheviot Goat Ultra, which consisted of a 55-mile loop from Ingram via Barrowburn, along the Border Ridge and finally climbing Windy Gyle, Cheviot and Hedgehope, which were mostly covered in knee-deep snow! Until I started planning for this race, I didn’t know that the Cheviot Goats existed, but I have now seen them three times, not far from Windy Gyle and close to The Street.
I am really lucky to live very close to Hadrian’s Wall and particularly love running along the trails around Housesteads, Sewing Shields and Heavenfield. Last summer I ventured further afield, heading to the West end of Hadrian ’s Wall path before running back to Birdoswald, taking in the varied terrain and amazing views on my journey. I look forward to telling you more about my adventures in the future!
